Alhambra

Waiting for our tour guide. We had been known to be late for our meetups with Kendall but this time we were early and waiting for her to begin our trek up to and our tour of the Alhambra.
Before starting our journey up to the Alhambra, we had to fuel up with Kebabs.
Carter was thrilled for our day of sightseeing strapped to my chest in the heat!
Dianna approves
This was just the beginning of our journey and a main reason of why Carter was strapped to me and not in the stroller!!
The climb continues
Perched up on a hill overlooking the city of Granada sits Spain's most toured destination, La Alhambra or "The Red Fortress." It is a vast and impressive combination of Palace and Fortress built by the Moors and sprinkled with some Catholic Monarchy influence. It was originally built by the Arabic Moors in the 1300's, and later taken over and turned into more of a Palace residence in the 1500's by Charles V. (I copied this from Dianna's blog because she said it much better!)
And we made it to the top, with beautiful views of Granada below
It was so hot and this is how Carter spent most of the day.
This is supposedly the spot Christopher Columbus asked for the money for his exploration. So Dianna and Kendall were reenacting it.
Legend has it if you step right in the center your spouse or future spouse will cheat on you. We weren't going to tempt fate!
Carter was so glad to be out!
Whew!! Finally free!! After a long hot day!
