Patonga

5 dogs, 3 adults and 3 kids in one car to Patonga
Dr. Teo has a house in Patonga that they said we could stay at. Its about an hour and a half/2 hours from Sydney. Teeniest little town that is beautiful.
They didn't last in the water long. It was freezing!!!!
Give them a beach and they are the happiest kids in the world!
This was just the first of a few trips we made to Patonga!!

Auschwitz/Barham reunion at Bondi Beach

When we found out the Barhams were also applying for a fellowship in Sydney we were praying hard that they would get it. Who would've ever known after not seeing each other for 5 years after med-school that we would reunite with our families in Sydney on Bondi Beach!! These little ones will soon become besties. We are so excited to share this experience with them!!

exploring downtown

First up on our first touristy exploration of downtown: Opera House and Harbour bridge!
Running wild and picnic at the Botanic Gardens

Picking out what we want for dinner at the fish market
And I had to throw in this cute pic of Carter and the pups. Niki emailed us asking how the pups were doing with the kiddos because she was worried about Archie. He was pretty nervous about them at first. And when we were reading her email, this is what Archie was doing right then. :) Archie is the brown one and crazy Gansta the white.

Taronga Zoo with Mimi

This was our first of many trips to Taronga Zoo and our first encounter with the Koalas!!
  "Loot Mimi a Koala"
And Kangaroos. Funny story with Mimi and the kangaroos. In the bushbaby area, the kangaroos can hop around and come up to you. Well we didn't realize that our first trip and once comes hopping out right beside Caleb and mom. He starts running after it to pet it and Mimi starts yelling at him to stop. She thinks it has escaped out of its cage and was running free. Caleb obviously wasn't going to listen and he ran right up and got to pet it. Kennedy was a little nervous by the commotion and by the time she decided to go pet the kangaroo it hopped away.
Taronga has the best views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge!
Being a spectator, I never know whats being said in these moments. But they are always priceless to watch from behind!!

5 dogs, 3 fish, a cat and 3 kids

The Teo's were out of town and so generously opened up there house for us to stay in when we first arrived in Sydney. But part of the deal was taking care of their 5 puppies. Mimi wasn't too thrilled with the idea but I think even she grew to like them, at least a few of them, maybe. The kids loved taking care of the dogs and were really great with them.
 Princess, Lucky, Archie, Chewy, Gangsta
Actually Archie didn't make it in the picture because he was a little nervous around the kids at first. But after a little time with them, he loved them and became very protective of him. Archie quickly became a favorite of the group and if we had our way he'd be coming back to Memphis with us!!
The kids were in Heaven. We made 2-3 trips down to Queens Park with the dogs every day and once we moved to our house, Niki brought Chewy and Archie over a few times when she babysat.
