Potty training and Calebisms

Caleb decided he was ready for big boy underwear so we waited for a Friday so we had all weekend to go for it. I have to say I was totally dreading it!!! First day, no accidents, not one! Second day not so great but once he realized he wasn't a dog and wasn't supposed to poop on the carpet we were set. I would say he was ready! He runs to the potty when he needs to go. Out of the house we are still struggling a little, mostly when I'm not with him (church, school, the Y) and mostly poop. Sunday I picked him up from church and they told me he pooped on the floor! Whoops! Then Monday he pooped on the floor of the bathroom at the Y. Ok so he's got it at home but we need a little work out of the house! But he's doing way better than I'd ever hoped.

Lindsey did a blog on funny things Bennett has done or said. I thought it was a great idea to remember the crazy things that come out of their mouths. I've been trying to keep a note in my phone when he says something that really cracks me up. With Caleb I would constantly be adding to the list. This kid talks nonstop and has since he discovered his voice at a couple months old, you can just understand him now :) Here are a couple "Calebisms" I had noted:

- After picking him up from 1st day of VBS I asked him what their story was about today "Jesus was in the water" "Yeah Caleb Jesus was special and H e could walk on water" "No Momma Jesus got eaten by the whale!!!" "No baby that wasn't Jesus that was Jonah" "No Momma it was Jesus and it made me so sad"
- I had just reminded Caleb he had no pants on when the doorbell rings "Oh no Momma the pizza man is going to see my butt"
- "Momma Ali's my best friend" It was kind of random bc he hadn't been to school in a week to see Ali. And I know a couple other friends who may be a little jealous :)
- One statement that made me cringe "Oh No Sissy stop Sissy got poop!!" This was day 2 of potty training!
- When Caleb was sick a little while back we prayed that Jesus would make him feel better. The next morning when he woke up still sick he said "Jesus didn't make me feel better, he didn't come to my house"
- "Big boys don't pry (cry) in their beds Momma" "Oh really then why have you been in here screaming for 45 minutes" "I not prying Mom I a big boy. I. NOT. PRYing" oh you sure fooled me!
- I heard him in the playroom "Good morning class, I Miss Sharon"
- He was mad bc I took his diaper off when he woke up and he wasn't quite awake yet "Momma I gonna tt on you" Oh buddy I dare you!!!
- Stopped at a train "Train get outta momma's way right now"
A couple of his favorite sayings:
Two little babies (When they're both snuggled in my lap)
Naked Baby naked baby (when Kennedy crawls off when I'm changing her diaper)
Silly Goose or Silly boy (when he knows he's up to something hes not supposed to be)
What's that noise

Man I love this little boy!!

Donuts with Dad

Caleb had his first donuts with dad today at school. We were so excited Daddy was able to come. I couldn't tell Caleb about it until this morning because we didn't know if he'd be able to sneak away or not but he was. Caleb told all his friends at the Y before school "I'm having donuts with my daddy at my school" He was so proud!
I had to snap this pic. They looked so cute walking into school.
Tyler laughed at me when I asked him to get someone to take a picture of them. So I was excited when I got the text with this picture.
All Caleb's talked about since I picked him up from school was that daddy came and ate donuts with him in his class. The little things in life sure mean alot!

"Night Night Mommy's angel I love you"
"I not an angel Mommy I a boy"
"Boys can be angels too Caleb"
"Oh ok Mommy.. Is Daddy an Angel too"
.... "Well yeah I guess so :)"

Mexico

After two babies, 2nd year of residency, which includes lots of call and studying for (and passing!!!) boards, Tyler and I took a much needed parent's only trip! Thanks to MiMi and KNae taking care of the kiddos, we were able to relax and know the kids were taken care of at home. (KNae is going to post a blog on what all was happening at home while we were gone!!) I brought my camera but never took it out of the suitcase so the pictures I have are from my phone.

Here's the view from our balcony. The resort was really nice and the food was the best we've had (besides Sandals which nothing compares to)
We had a jacuzzi tub on the balcony. Tyler enjoyed his "soak" on the balcony every night while I was getting ready for dinner. We did a lot of relaxing and reading but Tyler also joined in on the games around the resort.
Football throw
Come on its not brain surgeryAnd this is what I did! I actually started and finished a book in a couple days! I haven't done that in awhile!
Caleb loves looking at pictures, on the computer or on my phone. So we had to take pictures of things we knew Caleb would like to see.
Here's some iguanas.
Monkeys just roaming around the resort. Tyler gets credit for the blurry picture! :)
And Tyler cheesing it up
Coco the spider monkeyMommy and Daddy's airplane.
The next morning I had this to wake up to. My days of sleeping in are over but my cuddle buddies are back!Thank goodness we have another trip coming up to look forward to. We missed the kiddos but were glad to sleep in (even though I was up by 7:30 every day I was able to just lay in bed as long as I wanted!) and just sit and relax. Seeing the kids that were there made me even more excited for our trip to Jamaica. I kept saying Caleb will love this. Despite a little Montezuma's revenge, the trip was awesome and we can't wait to go again.

Memorial Day Weekend Crawfish Boil

Before I even get started I am apologizing now for the ridiculous amount of pictures. Its hard to believe but I did leave a bunch out :)
We had our 2nd annual Memorial Day Weekend Crawfish Boil before Tyler and I left for our much needed parents only no kids vacation, of course post will follow (a much shorter post!)
Of course Caleb and Kennedy had to have their outfits ready for the occasion (Can you believe Caleb's fit from last year!)
Caleb has been so excited about his crawfish party for sooo long.
Just helping Pops and Daddy get everything ready
Once again Tyler's dad brought the crawfish from Shreveport and helped with all the cooking. Thanks so much Pops and Annie the crawfish boil definitely couldn't have happened without you!
Now its time for a little swimming!!
Most of the residents with Dr. Robertson
The crawfish were a hit to play with. Sevy had crawfish "juice" all over his belly!
And on to the intense volleyball games. Maria took my camera and caught some really good "action shots"
Brent's playing holding one of his boys, its just second nature to have at least one hanging on him
Intense I tell you!
Meanwhile Caleb is devouring some crawfish. He LOVED them! A Louisiana boy at heart!
I kept catching the kids sneaking over for more crawfish! This one's got Louisiana blood :)Caleb conned Elizabeth into peeling him some
meanwhile intense volleyball still going strong!
And now for some races
Gabe's victory lap
We had a great time and now look forward to next years!! :)
