VBS Water Day

This week Caleb and I have been at CUMC for VBS. I am leading a 2nd grade group and Caleb has been having a ball in the nursery. Today they had water day and Caleb went nuts! I had another mom tell me I had to go see him because he was going crazy! I snuck down while my kids were in story time and saw him playing in the pools they had set up. While the other kids were standing around not really sure what was going on, Caleb was running full speed, jumping over the edge of the pool and belly flopping face first into the water! Then he'd splash around and go do it again, all accompanied with squeals and laughs. I wish I had my video camera, if only I had the newer iphone! :) It was hilarious! I wasn't surprised one bit because this is what he usually does in the big pool so this was nothing new. Everyone I saw throughout the day commented on my crazy little man and how much fun he was having! We have one more day tomorrow and I know Caleb will be sad its over. This week has shown me he is so ready for "school". He starts in August but I wish he could go sooner because he just loves it!
Yep thats Caleb face first in the water!
This was his outfit yesterday. Daddy bought him these Sperrys and his Nanner was so proud! My little baby is all grown up! He just looks like a little man here!

Tiger and Gracie

Sadly we had to say Goodbye to Tiger and Gracie. There were lots of different reasons why and I fought it as long as I could. But I finally gave in to Tyler's persuasion and we found a new home for them. They will be spoiled rotten and taken care of so it made it a little easier. We have really missed them but I know without a doubt we made the right decision. Here are a couple pictures so we won't forget them!

TIGER:
Thanks Aunt K-Nae

GRACIE:
When Caleb was born they quickly became his guard dogs. Especially Tiger!! Tiger even climbed under Caleb's bassinet and would sleep there while Caleb was sleeping. Wherever Caleb was the first couple months, Tiger was there standing guard. He would get up on whoever was holding Caleb's legs and just sit there.
Tiger pulled the blanket off of Caleb so he could see him better.
Sniffing Caleb out when he first came home from the hospital.
Lots of Tiger and Gracie kisses! Caleb loved those two puppies!

Last minute trip to Shreveport

For Tyler's vacation this block we were just going to hang around the house. But since our addition isn't done yet and we can't get all the rooms moved around, we decided to head to Shreveport to visit family since we won't be going back for the rest of the summer. We had a great time, got lots of pool time in and ate at all our favorite spots. Once again I didn't do a great job of getting pictures. I always cart my camera around and then forget to use it.

Dyson and Cooper flipping off the diving board at the pool. These two boys have gotten WAY too big!! We really miss them a lot since we've moved to Memphis. They are growing up way too fast! Maybe in a couple years we'll be back and we can have tons more of these fun summer days by the pool or on the river/lake!!
"Aunt Monica will you Tivo me doing a cannon ball?"- Cooper
This video is for you Cooper! :)
We were so glad Papa and Nina drove up one day to come see us. I thought this picture was so cute and then I realized my lens was fogged up from the humidity! Oh well its still a cute one.
After a couple failed attempts due to the weather, we finally made it out on the river.
This was nothing compared to how his hair ended up after we were done.
Caleb loved driving the boat with Papa K. And once he found the horn, it was on. Sorry to all the other people on the river who were honked at! :)
We were so glad Beck happened to be in Shreveport while we were there. We got to see him a lot and even were able to celebrate his birthday with him! We can't wait for him to move to Nashville so he'll be closer and we won't have to wait a year to see him again!
Caleb couldn't get enough of jumping off the back of the boat! He would jump and then get out and jump again. It wore us out getting him up on the boat! You can hear him "counting" before he jumps in.

I LOVE this!!!
This was Caleb around this time last year! Its crazy how much he has changed in a year and how fast it went by!!!
We were supposed to go home on Friday but we were able to convince Tyler to stay until Saturday so we played at Pops and Annie's house all Saturday afternoon before driving home! I've been trying to find sunglasses with the band so Caleb will keep them on longer and haven't been able to besides ordering them. But thanks Aunt Jennifer, she found them for us at Academy! I will say the day before I was there and the lady looked at me like I was crazy when I asked if they had any.
Caleb thinks he's a big as Dyson and Cooper and I love watching him chase after them and play. I wish we were going to be able to come back when Uncle Trey and his crew will be in Shreveport. Caleb would have a ball playing with all his cousins but baby Kennedy will just be making her debut (hopefully!!) I did consider going if she comes early but thats me being crazy! Especially since Tyler will be working.
Caleb spent the whole day, almost, jumping off the hot tub! Like on the boat you can hear him counting before he leaps off. Its funny watching Tyler being all cautious and protective. He's always more cautious than I am. I just let him jump off and then help him swim back to where he can stand.

As you can tell we had a great time. We didn't get to meet up with all our friends so hopefully next trip we can get to see everyone. We do love Memphis but we really miss being home, especially during these summer times when there's so much pool, lake/river time we're missing!!
