NICU scare

Right after Carter was born everything was going great. The delivery went smoothly and we moved up to our room and Carter went to the nursery. When they came in in the middle of the night I was thinking they were bringing him to me to eat. But they didn't have him with them. The nurse told me they were keeping him in the nursery for a little longer because his sugar levels were a little high and he was having trouble regulating his body temp. She told me they were going to supplement him with formula for that feeding until things regulate out. I was not thrilled about that but I knew it would be fine. They next time they came in and woke me up, once again they didn't have Carter with them. They said his levels had all regulated out but now they were taking him to the NICU because of his breathing. His Oxygen levels and everything were fine but he was making funny sounds when he was breathing. They told us once we woke up in the morning they would take us down to see him. So of course the rest of the night I just laid there waiting for morning. I waited for any sign from Tyler that he was awake and first time I heard him move I said lets go downstairs and see our baby!

Here's a video of Carter "singing"
When we got down there the nurse said he looked great. They had taken xrays and his lungs were clear and everything was looking great. They were just waiting for the Dr. to come around, check him and release him back upstairs to our room.
We ended up spending all morning and into the afternoon in the NICU. The dr was really busy with some other babies that weren't doing so well. So we just waited. Thankful that despite being stuck in the NICU and not in our own room, we were stuck there with a well baby. Very grateful that everything was ok and just glad to have our baby in our arms we just waited to be released.
In the mean time Dianna was holding down the fort at home with the "big kids". They were axiously waiting coming to see their new baby brother.
Once we were released from the NICU and sent back upstairs to our room, the kids got the OK to come visit. Dressed in their big bro/ big sis shirts they were on their way.
Carter watched the Super Bowl from the hospital. The Giants beat the Patriots.
Testing his hearing. He looks like he's jammin to some cool tunes.
Pops drove up to check on his newest grandson.
